IN OUR CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD THIS WEEK, LET’S REMEMBER:
-- In long-term Senior Health Care Facilities: Larry Farris (Extendicare), Annie Hannan (Capilano Court) and Edna Knutson (Providence Place);
-- our newly married couple, Douglas & Britta who were married Oct. 2nd. Let’s keep all marriages on our prayer lists;
-- Kevin, Beckie & Chloe as they are expecting an addition to their family in April/2011;
-- Carol Smith (Victoria, B.C.) is in the Renal Ward of the hospital in Victoria due to serious kidney problems. Carol was part of our congregation for many, many years, prior to moving to B.C. perhaps 10 or so years ago to be closer to her relatives;
-- Vicki Knutson (Regina): lung cancer in both lungs; Walter Ridgeway (Edmonton), Sharon’s brother-in-law—continues to have treatments for his lung cancer. The last tests showed no cancer—praise God!—but they are going to continue on with the planned amount of chemo treatments just to be sure;
-- Velma Forman as she ministers both physically and Spiritually to the people of Papua New Guinea. Clinic website: http://www.onemileclinic.org/. Velma: vlforman@global.net.pg
-- our government leaders; world peace;
-- take a look around and remember one another in our Church family—may we show Jesus and His love through our words and actions.

OUR ON-GOING COLLECTIONS:
(1). Canadian Tire Money: can be given to Linda for use at Clearview Christian Camp. So far we’ve got $2.45. We found this past summer that we could really use a regular electric hand mixer—we have the Kitchen-Aid for mixing large amounts of food, but no small mixer for doing smaller amounts, so that’s what we’ll put our Canadian Tire money towards this time.
(2). Moose Jaw & District Food Bank: all non-perishable grocery items are gratefully accepted and can be placed in the container in the foyer.
(3). For Western Christian College: Campbell Soup labels—the whole label—can be placed in the can on the table in the foyer. Please ensure that the UPC bar code is in tack. Campbell’s Soup gives the school a rebate for labels sent in.

SPECIAL COLLECTION: -- for Velma Forman and her work in Papua New Guinea will be taken today and/or next Sunday, November 7th. Velma and her staff at One Mile Clinic do a tremendous work with the people in their area of PNG—ministering to them both physically and Spiritually. Velma moved from Vancouver, B.C. to Lae, Papua New Guinea in 1993 to do full-time missionary/nursing work there. We know any funds given will be greatly appreciated and put to very good use.

MEN’S BUSINESS MEETING: -- will be next Sunday, Nov. 7th, here at the building, beginning at 1:45 p.m. All the men are encouraged to attend.

DIRECTORY UPDATE -- Paul and Evelee moved into their new home this past week—congratulations! Their new address is: # 4-802-2nd Ave. N.W., Moose Jaw, S6H 3P9. It was kind of nasty weather on Tuesday, but we hope the move went well—now comes all the unpacking and putting away! We pray your condo will be wonderful in every way!

FAREWELL—BUT ONLY FOR A LITTLE WHILE!: -- Joyce will be heading out to Victoria this week, to spend the winter months out there. We’ll miss you Joyce, but know that you will enjoy the milder winter. Take care, God bless, and we’ll see you in the spring!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: -- we are once again collecting items to fill shoe boxes which will be sent to boys and girls in some of the poorest countries in the world. Several years ago we found out that the people in a lot of the areas where the boxes are distributed use the box to carry water from the well to their homes until the box disintegrates from use, so we started purchasing plastic boxes with lids. We will be putting our gifts in plastic containers again this year. Keep in mind that the boxes are the size of a regular shoe box, so items need to be fairly small. Items that CANNOT be sent: food (except hard, wrapped candy), anything liquid that could freeze and break, breakable items, soap, toothpaste (Customs regulations in the receiving countries). Items purchased can be given to either Donna or Linda and they will see that they get into the boxes. Or, if you would like to give some cash to Donna or Linda, they will purchase the items for you. Collection week is Nov. 15 to 22, so our cut-off date for having the boxes completed will be Sunday, Nov. 14th.

CLEARVIEW CHRISTIAN CAMP ANNUAL MEETING: -- will be on Saturday, November 20th beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Glen Elm Church of Christ in Regina has been generous enough to let us use one of their classrooms for the meeting. The Church address is: 1825 Rothwell Street. The meeting is open to anyone interested in the Camp, so please feel free to join us. -- Clearview Christian Camp Board.

“The vision must be followed by the venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps— we must step up the stairs.” -- Vance Havner

“CAN YOU HEAR ME?”
A man was having some difficulty communicating with his wife, and he concluded that she was becoming hard of hearing. So he decided to conduct a test without her knowing about it.
One evening he sat in a chair on the far side of the room. Her back was to him so she could not see him. Very quietly he whispered, “Can you hear me?” There was no response.
Moving a little closer, he asked again, “Can you hear me now?” Still no reply.
Quietly he edged closer and whispered the same words, but still no answer.
Finally he moved right behind her and said, “Can you hear me now?”
To his surprise and chagrin she responded with irritation in her voice, “For the fourth time, YES!”
What a warning to us about judging!
Most of us criticize others to cover up for faults in our own lives. We also tend to find fault with someone when in fact we are the ones in the wrong, not the other person.
Jesus knew human nature well. That’s why He said, “Be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and you shall not be judged.” (Luke 6:36-37) -- R.W. DeHaan
Don’t be too hard on the person who sins,
For the yardstick you lay on another
May someday be used as a measure for you;
Oh, be gracious and judge not, my brother!

“If you are looking for faults to correct, try looking in the mirror!”

WHAT THE BIBLE MEANS
A father was approached by his small son who told him proudly, “I know what the Bible means!” His father smiled and replied, “What do you mean, you ‘know’ what the Bible means?”
The son replied, “I do know!”
“Okay,” said his father. “What does the Bible mean?”
“That’s easy Daddy,” the young boy replied excitedly. “It stands for Basic Information Before Leaving Earth—B-I-B-L-E.”

DEFINITION: Junk is the stuff we throw away. Stuff is the junk we save!

PASSING ON KINDNESS
“Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even
as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” -- Eph. 4:32

A friend or loved one goofs up, and what do we do? We’re tempted to rub their noses in it as we see their faults in glaring neon lights. Our own faults seem so, well, excusable in comparison. But a life of faith is lived on a higher plane than the one ordered by human nature. God calls us up to a higher place.
He calls us to forgiveness, the cornerstone of grace because He forgave us first. Remember the old saying, “pretty is as pretty does?” Kindness is a trait that’s only as good as its practice. A tender heart extends grace even when people don’t deserve it, just like God did when He sent Jesus to die while we were yet sinners.
Count it a privilege to be kind to others, to treat them tenderly, and to forgive them when no one else will. Be like the One you follow. -- Author Unknown

“Sprinkle your day with a heavy dose of kindness.”
"
Every person should have a fair-sized cemetery in which to bury the faults of their friends.”

“Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words if necessary.”

“We are all inclined to judge ourselves by our ideals; others, by their acts.”
