IN OUR CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD THIS WEEK, LET’S REMEMBER:
-- In long-term Senior Health Care Facilities: Edna Knutson (Providence Place); Julia Thiessen (Providence Place); Gladys Dods (Extendicare);
-- Leo had his surgeries on June 9th, to remove his left kidney due to cancer and repair an abdominal aneurism, and was feeling well enough to be discharged this past Thursday. We are so glad you are doing well Leo—what an answer to prayer! Take care and take it easy—and do as Mazie tells you!!
-- Keith Dods is currently undergoing chemo and radiation treatments for his cancer;
-- Gerry Bell (Gravelbourg) has recently been diagnosed with Lymphomic Cancer. As far as I know, he is under the care of a specialist, and has had at least one lymph gland removed, but no treatments are required at this time;
-- Mal Tarrant (Dauphin) as he is really struggling with cancer. Mal, Beth and their kids were part of our congregation for many, many years, prior to their move to Dauphin. We know this is a very stressful time for the family;
-- Vicki Knutson (Regina): lung cancer in both lungs;
-- Cal Young and faimily as he will be scheduled for an angiogram in Regina this week and possible surgery to replace a heart valve
-- please keep the families of all of the above named in your prayers. We know sickness in a member of one’s family is stressful for the whole family;
-- Velma Forman as she ministers both physically and Spiritually to the people of Papua New Guinea. Clinic website: www.onemileclinic.org. Velma: vlforman@daltron.com.pg
-- our government leaders; world peace;
-- take a look around and remember one another in our Church family—may we show Jesus and His love through our words and actions.
SUMMER SCHEDULE: -- please keep in mind that our time together on Sunday mornings for the months of June, July and August will begin at 10:30 a.m. As in the past number of years, the time from 10:30 to 10:55 will be a devotional time, while also sharing in some singing with the children. There is a schedule on the bulletin board for the men to sign up to be in charge of the 10:30 to 10:55 time, so if you can look after this time for a Sunday or two (or more!) please mark your name down.
Our regular worship service will begin as usual at 11:00 a.m.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: -- for cutting the grass here at the building. If you are able to help, please mark your name down on the calendar on the bulletin board—whatever week or weeks work for you. If you need any further information or want to know anything about the lawn mower, please check with Douglas. Thanks!
NEEDED FOR CAMP CRAFTS: -- we need cereal boxes for our week of camp. These are used to keep the tables from getting messy when the kids are using markers, glue etc., so the boxes can be flattened. They can be given to either Donna or Bonnie and they will stash them away for Camp. Thanks!
CLEARVIEW CHRISTIAN CAMP: -- summer activities at the Camp begin in a little under two weeks, with July 1-3rd, being the “Fifty Years of Camp Reunion Weekend”, followed by “Family Camp Week”, July 3-8th, and then the kids weeks begin, with the Grades 2 to 5 week beginning July 10th. As in the past five or six years (or maybe longer) the Grades 2 to 5 week is handled by a group of us from here. Those who have already committed to going are: Darin, Donna, Tracy (Kurt can’t get that week off work this year, so will not be able to join us) Bonnie, Brett, Dan and Linda. There are several others who are still in the “thinking process”—we hope you decide to come!
CLEARVIEW CHRISTIAN CAMP:
(1). 50th Anniversary Celebration: -- will be held on the July 1-3rd weekend. This will be a wonderful time of fellowship and sharing memories of 50 years at Clearview. If you have been a part of Camp in the past or want to see what Camp is all about, plan to attend. Registration info can be found at www.clearviewchristiancamp.ca
(2). History of Clearview: -- is being compiled. If you have pictures from times at Camp—long ago or recent—please give them to Bonnie. She will ensure that all original photos are returned. Also, if you have any history memories about the Camp and would write them down these can be given to Bonnie as well, for inclusion in the history.

THANK YOU!: -- we want to thank all the men who were involved in the process of hiring our new preacher—a number of meetings and a great deal of prayer went into the process.
Special thanks to the men who served on the Preacher Search Committee: Lew Young, Kurt Pippus, Dan Goud, Brett Young, Rory Windrum and Douglas Goud. These men have been meeting every two weeks since March, to plan the search process, which included the questionnaire that was drawn up and distributed for each member to complete (then tallying all the results by category—special thanks to Rory for doing that part of the process--we appreciate your great talent with the computer!), getting ads in various publications, going over resumes when they came in etc. etc. They took the complied information to the men’s business meetings from the information and data that had been collected. The final decision to hire Darrell Buchanan was a unanimous decision at the June 5th business meeting.
As was announced last week Darrell Buchanan has been hired as our full-time Evangelist. He will begin his duties in early August. We look forward to having Darrell and Darlene working with us.

HA! HA!: While Bob was riding his Harley down the highway a Police Officer, also on a motorbike, pulls up close behind him with his lights flashing and motions for Bob to pull over. Right away, Bob says, “I’m sorry, officer was I speeding?”
The Police officer says, “No, mate, but your wife fell off a couple of miles back.”
Bob replies, “Oh that explains it. I thought I was going deaf.”
THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO DAD!
REFLECTIONS ABOUT DAD
When the hectic child raising years are over and Dad gets a chance to catch his breath and reflect on the years that have passed, how does he feel about it all?
Do you think he is a little bit bitter because his responsibilities denied him a chance to get all those “toys” he promised himself when he was growing up? Is he disappointed in life, sorry it didn’t offer him quite what he had expected or hoped for when he was 18?
Not really! No, Dad isn’t sorry for anything he has given! He’s sorry he didn’t have more to give; sorry he didn’t give more of what he could have given; sorry for the harsh words which the children have long forgotten, but which he can never forget; sorry he didn’t realize much sooner that giving himself was more important to the children than providing things; sorry he has never been able to communicate to his children how he really feels about them, himself, his family and what is really important to him; sorry for what he didn’t give because he didn’t know how; but never sorry for what he did give, unselfishly, happily, no strings attached. -- Author Unknown
THE MEANING OF SUCCESS … -- Robert Louis Stevenson
That man is a success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who leaves the world better than he found it, whether by a perfect poem or a rescued soul; who never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it; who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.
