IN OUR CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD THIS WEEK, LET’S PRAY FOR:
-- In long-term Senior Health Care Facilities: Edna Knutson (Providence Place); Julia Thiessen (Providence Place);
-- Gordon had surgeryon Tuesday to remove the tumor from his kidney. The doctor was pleased with how the surgery went, and Gordon is feeling not to badly. They expected he would be
in the hospital until at least yesterday. Let’s keep Gordon & Vivian in our prayers;
-- Evelee will have her second chemo treatment on Friday.
She will have a session every three weeks over a 12-week period. We need to keep Paul & Evelee in our prayers as they go through these treatments and deal with the side-effects of them;
-- Gladys as sherecovers from her broken hip and the surgery that followed on July 15th;
-- Keith Dods as he is struggling with his cancer and is in the William Booth Centre in Regina.
We also need to keep Ralph in our prayers—it’s such a difficult situation for him watching his son’s health fail;
-- Walter & Cathy Ridgeway (Edmonton), Sharon’s sister & brother-in-law as they deal
with Walter’s cancer. Radiation did help shrink the tumor in his lung which improved his breathing and it seems that for now, the medication is keeping his pain tolerable;
-- Lil King (Winnipeg)--cancer. She is in her 90’s and the doctors feel that treatment would
be to hard on her. Lil is the mother/mother-in-law of Gary& Eva (Bell) King;
-- the group from Saskatchewan who are in India until Dec. 6th with the “Heart Warmer
Ministries”—Ray McMillan (Regina), Wilf & Laura Olson (Regina), Shelby Goud (Carlyle) and Ian McLeod (Saskatoon);
-- please keep the families of all of the above named in your prayers. We know sickness in a member of one’s familyis stressful for the whole family;
-- our government leaders; world peace;
-- take a look around and remember one another in our Church family—may we show Jesus and His love through our words and actions.

“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”
Mother Teresa

SYMPATHY:
-- we want to express our sincere sympathy to Darrell and Darlene on the passing of Darrell’s Mom, Erline Buchanan (age 83) on Tuesday. Her passing was very sudden and unexpected which makes the loss that much more difficult. The family will gather with friends in Nanaimo on Dec. 11th for a time to honor and remember her memory. Darrell & Darlene, you are
in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. Moms are such special people in our lives, it’s hard to let them go. Cherish the memories.
“God is our refuge and strength, anever-present help in trouble.” – Psalm 46:1

FOR THE BABIES IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA: -- “I am gathering baby blankets, receiving
blankets, sleepers and undershirts for One Mile Clinic. Velma said sleepers and undershirts for ages two and under are what are needed for them to hand out at the Clinic. These do not need to be new—if you wish to purchase some, that’s great, but if anyone has used ones they are done with that is perfectly fine to.” -- Donna

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: -- the cut-off date for this collection is today and our boxes will be delivered to the collection depot this week.

THANK YOU!: --
“Please accept my gratitude for your recent generous donation of funds to the clinic work in Papua New Guinea. Through the faithful prayers and giving by so many in Western Canada and
beyond, many lives have been changed in PNG. My trip to the States after I left Moose Jaw went well and now I am back home in B.C. for my last couple of weeks in Canada. Thank you again.” -- Love, Velma Forman

SPORTS ENTHUSIASTS: -- if you want to catch some really good Volleyball games, Brooke’s team from Caronport has the following home games over the next few weeks:
-- Friday, Nov. 25th: 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 26th:
1:00 p.m., and then not again until Jan. 13 & 14 and Jan. 27 & 28. All of these games are at the gym in
Caronport.

IN
THE SPRING: -- if someone will donate the use of their garage, we would like to have a garage
sale in the spring with proceeds going to Clearview Christian Camp. So, over the winter months and during your spring cleaning, if you come upon any items that you would like to donate, that
would be great. Items can be put on the tables in the large classroom downstairs, or you can just set them aside at home until the sale. It’s a good way to get rid of your “junk” and support a worthy cause at the same time.

OUR ON-GOING COLLECTIONS:
(1). Canadian Tire Money: can be given to Linda. This will be used to purchase something for use in the kitchen at Clearview Christian Camp next summer. So far we have $17.25. In 2010 we purchased a coffee maker and in 2011 a mixette.
(2). Moose Jaw & District Food Bank: all non-perishable grocery items are gratefully accepted and can be placed in the container in the foyer.
(3). For Western Christian College: Campbell Soup labels. The whole label--ensure
that the UPC bar code is in tack. Campbell’s Soup gives the school a rebate for labels sent in.

THE GIFT OF TODAY.
“Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world,
and it is certain we an carry nothing out.” -- 1 Timothy 6:6-7
When you woke up this morning, what went through your head? Did you realize the new day was a gift? The moment we take the sunrise for granted, we begin the slow slide toward indifference and ingratitude. Soon we take people for granted and, worst of all, even God. We may come to expect His goodness as our right, but it is not. It is a gife—a precious gift.
Whenever obligation is attached to gift giving, gifts lose their meaning. Suddenly the joy goes out of giving and receiving. But give—or receive—a gift unexpectedly, and something remarkable takes place. Joy lights a face. Eyes and hearts connect. Gratitude binds two people.
None of us is guaranteed tomorrow—nor even this moment. When you realize every day is a gift, it increases the value of everything. -- Author Unknown

“Be content with what today offers; treasure it as if it were your last.”

“The secret of contentment is the realization that life is a gift, not a right.”

BEYOND THE SHADOW OF A DOUBT …
When things perplex you, and the way ahead is darkened by doubt and fear, try to remember Christopher Columbus.
When he set out on his famous voyage of discovery, he didn’t know where he was going.
When he arrived on the strange shores of America, he didn’t know where he was.
When he got back, he didn’t even know where he’d been.
And yet he knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that he had found a great, new world!
-- Author Unknown

“Success can be defined in three simple words: “And then some”.
The top people did what was expected of them, “and then some.”
They were considerate and kind, “and then some.”
They were good friends and helpful neighbours, “and then some.””

“Be still and know that I am God.”
-- Psalm 46:10

LOOK WHO’S READING YOU …
I heard about a judge who used bumper stickers to encourage better driving. He gave two options to people charged with driving while intoxicated.
The first option was to attach this message to their bumper: “This car owned by a convicted drunk driver.” Almost all offenders preferred the judge’s second option: Enroll in an alcohol treatment program. The majority of people cared about what others thought of them and wanted to maintain a good image.
The fear of embarrassment applies to other kinds of unacceptable behavior as well. For example, not many of us would be willing to walk around with a sign on our backs that read something like this: “Danger: I’m a Christian who doesn’t spend time in prayer or Bible study.” Nor would we want to wear a sign that read: “Warning: I’m a child of God who is a gossip,” or “Be careful: I’m a follower of God but when your back is turned I will belittle and make fun of you.”
If God required us to display such signs, would our desire for the respect of others keep us from revealing our true Spiritual condition? The way we answer that question says a lot about our sense of shame before the Lord, who always judges us accurately. Is it possible that we fear His opinion less than we fear the opinion of others? -- M.R. DeHaan
“It matters not what others say in ridicule or fun; I want to live that I may hear Him say to me, “Well done.”

Live for God’s approval rather than man’s approval
