A PRAYER FOR THE NEW YEAR
Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury … pardon;
Where there is doubt … faith;
Where there is despair … hope;
Where there is darkness … light;
Where there is sadness … joy.
Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not so much
Seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
It is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
MAY 2012 BE A YEAR FILLED WITH MANY BLESSING FROM GOD!
The dawning of a new year provides an excellent opportunity to wipe the slate clean and make a fresh start. Those who know the Lord are able to do this in a way that has special meaning. Remembering God’s faithfulness and forgetting past mistakes can make entering the new year a time of joyous anticipation.
The 19th century preacher, Henry Ward Beecher, said, “We have passed through one more year. One more long stage in the journey of life, with its ascents and descents and dust and mud and rocks and thorns and burdens that wear the shoulders, is done. The old year is dead. Roll it away. Let it go. God, in His providence, has brought us out of it. It is gone … and now we stand at the beginning of the next, the new.”
We need to leave the failures of 2011 behind us. Having confessed our sins to the Lord, let’s accept His forgiveness and press on to higher ground.
As we move into 2012, we need to pause and remember God’s faithfulness and blessings during the past 12 months. But as far as our failures and disappointments are concerned, let’s make the beginning of the new year a time to forget. -- Author Unknown
A big adventure lies ahead!
A whole New Year in which anything might happen. There will be ups and downs, good and bad, joys and sorrows, happiness and grief.
But as we enter this year, let us remember we are not alone. There is One who is with us in everything we do—to help, to guide and to comfort.
In the big adventure that lies ahead, may God be allowed to walk with you and may He bless you daily!
Giving, whether it be of time, labor, affection,
advise, gifts or whatever—
is one of life’s greatest pleasures!
******
Blessed are they who have the gift of making friends, for it is one of God’s best
gifts. It involves many things, but above all, the power of going out of one’s
self and appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another.”
“A friend loveth at all times.” -- Proverbs 17:17
HA! HA!: What’s the best thing to take when you’re feeling run down?
The license plate of the vehicle that hit you.
HA! HA!: A woman was frantic when she saw smoke coming from her garage. She called 911 to report the fire.
“How do we get there?” asked the emergency dispatcher.
“Well …” the woman said, “don’t’ they use those big red trucks anymore?”
A BRIGHT NEW YEAR …
The Christmas season has come and gone, and we are plunging into yet another frantic year on this planet. It seems like only yesterday that we were welcoming the arrival of 2011, brimming with promise and hope. We anticipated twelve long months in which to accomplish our personal goals and objectives. But ever so quickly, we found ourselves deep in December and preparing to usher that era into history.
Now here we are again, entering a new year that will be with us for such a brief moment. How will you use the next 12 months? Let’s strive to use them to the glory of god and the betterment of our fellow man. -- Author Unknown
Dear Father, help me this year …
to be glad of life, because it gives me the chance to love and to work and to play and to look up at the stars; to be satisfied with my possessions, but not contented with myself until I have become the best I can be; to covet nothing that is my neighbor’s except his kindness of heart and gentleness of manners; to think seldom of my enemies, often of my friends, and every day of Christ. -- Henry Van Dyke
When I want to speak let me think first:
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary? If not, let it be unsaid.
“… let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath” – James 1:19
