-- Gordon continues his rehab and therapy at Providence Place. He is in room # 90 on the main floor. Continue to keep Gordon & Vivian in our prayers;

-- Walter & Cathy Ridgeway (Edmonton), Sharon’s sister & brother-in-law as they deal with Walter’s cancer;
-- Velma Forman as she ministers both spiritually and physically to the people in Papua New Guinea, through her running of One Mile Clinic;
-- our government leaders; world peace;
-- take a look around and remember one another in our Church family—may we show Jesus and His love through our words and actions.
FOR THE BABIES IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA: -- “I am gathering baby blankets, receiving blankets, sleepers and undershirts for One Mile Clinic. Velma said sleepers and undershirts for ages two and under are what are needed for them to hand out at the Clinic. These do not need to be new—if you wish to purchase some, that’s great, but if anyone has used ones they are done with that is perfectly fine to.” -- Donna

GREETINGS FROM PAPUA NEW GUINEA: -- “Hello from hot and humid Lae. As you spend time with family and friends, know that you are in our prayers, with gratitude for your love and generosity for the needy in PNG. May God bless you with a wonderful New Year 2012, guiding you in His will, enabling you to bring glory and honor to His kingdom.
One Mile Clinic re-opened Jan. 2nd continuing our outpatient and TB service. The Bible College school year starts at the end of January and we will resume our health classes with weekly basic first aid classes there. The government health centre we work alongside has been closed for a few months now, due to Lae being declared a fighting zone late in October. This will likely increase our work load. We are currently enjoying a very peaceful holiday season due to a liquor ban and increased Police presence. 2013 is an election year in PNG and it’s promising to be a tense one as we already have two men claiming to be Prime Minister with their own members of parliament!!
As mentioned when I was there in October, the decision has been made that this will be my last term in PNG. Lord willing, I will serve here until the end of Sept. 2014. We are so appreciative of your continued support so that we can continue to reach out to our neighbors with the love of Christ. Thank you again for your love and generosity! May God continue to bless you all as we enter the New Year.” Love in Him, Velma Forman
** If you are e-mailing me, please use: vlforman6011@gmail.com I will still check the Daltron address, but will not be using it on a regular basis. Thanks. -- Velma
“Success is neither fame, wealth nor power; rather it is seeking, knowing, loving and obeying God. If you seek, you will know; if you know; you will love; if you love, you will obey.”
JUST SUPPOSE
If all that you say in a single day,
With never a word left out,
Were printed each night in clear black and white,
‘Twould prove a shock no doubt.
And then just suppose, e’er ones eyes he could close,
He must read the record through.
Then wouldn’t one sigh and wouldn’t one try
A great deal less talking to do?
And I more than half think that many a kink
Would be smoother in life’s tangled thread,
If half of what we say in a single day
Were left forever unsaid!

THOUGHTS FOR THE NEW YEAR …
May you find serenity and tranquility in a world you may not always understand. May the pain you have known and the conflicts you have experienced give you the strength to walk through life facing each new situation with courage and optimism. Always know that there are those whose love and understanding will always be there, even when you feel most alone. May you discover enough goodness in others to believe in a world of peace. May a kind word, a reassuring touch and a warm smile be yours every day of your life and may you give these gifts as well as receive them. Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending. Teach love to those who know hate and let that love embrace you as you go into the world. May the teachings of those you admire become part of you, so that you may call upon them. Remember those whose lives you have touched and who have touched yours are always a part of you, even if the encounters were less than you would have wished. May you not become too concerned with material matters, but instead place immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart. Find time each day to see beauty and love in the world around you. Realize that each person has limitless abilities, but each of us is different in our own way. What you may feel you lack in one regard may be more than compensated for in another. What you feel you lack in the present may become one of your strengths in the future. May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility. Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience. May you always feel loved. -- Sandra Hauss
ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST
It’s not always easy to know which path to follow, which decision to make, or what to do.
Life is a series of new horizons, new hopes, new days and changes that come to you. And we all need some help with these things from time to time.
Remember these things: Dream it … do it … and discover how special you are. Be positive, for your attitude will affect the outcome of many things. Stay independent but ask for help when you need it. Seek the wisdom of the world holds and hold on to it. Make some progress every single day. Begin. Believe. Become.
Give yourself all the credit you’re due. Don’t shortchange your qualities, or any of the things that are so unique about you. Remember how precious life can be. Imagine. Invest the time it takes to reach out for your dreams. It will bring you happiness that no money on earth can buy. Don’t be afraid—no mountain is too big to climb if you do it at your own pace.
What’s the best thing to do? That’s simple: “Do your best!” And everything else will fall into place! -- Collin McCarty
Peace is not the absence of conflict,
but the ability to cope with it.
People show their true relationship with
God through their actions.
